To all campaign phone solicitors...

GO FUCK YOURSELVES! Stop calling us. Calling people on the phone and aggravating them is most definitely not going to attract voters, so FUCK OFF!

A change of plan

I've been trying to post on this blog roughly once a week since I started it back in March. I have often times struggled badly for content and put up many a shitty post on that count. Well, I believe that is about to all change. I am going to begin using this thing for what it was meant for, I daily journal, observing shit, pointing out idiocy, and pointing out greatness. I'll try to focus on the greatness because that's the kind of shit that'll make me enjoy writing these things more. I will also begin writing in my own speaking vernacular instead of the more tame language I've come to use on this site. Anyway, I think I'll enjoy this more, and I think I'll post more, so it should be better, right? Also look for a site layout overhaul in the near future.

I ran 3.5 miles today at the Crestview track. I made good time and was on quite the roll when I had to abruptly stop due to a GIRL'S FOOTBALL practice. I'm not talking about foreign "FUTBALL" or whatever the fuck they call soccer in those foreign countries. Soccer blows ass. This was literally a group of young-teen girls looking like they were warming up for regular old gridiron football. It was odd to say the least.

Jenny and I went to Culver's tonight for ice cream. I must say I'm NOT a fan of their ice cream. Their "butter-burgers" or whatever the hell they call them are fantastic, but their ice cream, I suggest you steer clear, friends. We went to Garden Ridge on the hunt for a cover for our patio set. We ended up getting this one, so let's hope our precious deck furniture is available for our use for years to come. We can't drink beer in the house on a nice summer evening, that's unacceptable!

The second NES challenge has FINALLY been completed! I defeated Cobra Triangle last night (9/16/08) at roughly 7:30 PM CDT! 2 months...2 fucking months! Are you kidding me? Andrew and I are the masters of NES gaming and it took 2 fucking months. Great game, though. If you are looking for a good NES game to check out 23 years after the system came out, grab this one!

Last thing today, I have taken 4 shits today. FOUR shits! I didn't even eat anything that would normally cause such a catastrophe. They've all been brutal too. Endless wiping, a case of the raw ass, and of course, plenty of stench for everyone in a 20 yard radius to enjoy. I hope this ends tomorrow because my ass can't take anymore.

Even with my new format, I'm going to vigilantly attempt to provide a good youtube or at least a good pic every day. Today, I give you Mr. Michael Scott with supposedly every single instance of his "That's what she said" jokes! Thanks John, and enjoy!

Review: Metallica - Death Magnetic

I, like many people in my generation, have basically bowed to the ground Metallica walks on since I was roughly 12 years old. Their first FIVE albums (yes many people will only say 4) are simply incredible. I have listened to those albums time after time and they simply NEVER get old. That being said, I am also one of those fans who wasn't really a big fan of Load or Reload, but I can tolerate probably 50% of each album. I was pretty excited when Garage Inc. game out so I could finally hear all the "Garage Days" stuff (even though I had bought a version of it a couple years earlier at a local CD shop). S&M was stupid as was their 2003 piece of trash "St. Anger". After St. Anger, I was still hopeful, however...

Death Magnetic hit stores yesterday and I naturally went straight to Best Buy and bought my copy. All I can say is "wow". They are finally back! This is the album that Load should have been. The songs feature Kirk Hammett back playing lead guitar like only he can do, great riffs like we enjoyed on the first 5 albums that stick in your head for hours after listening, making you want to go back and listen some more. The only turd on this thing is Unforgiven III, but even that is growing on me. As blown away as I am by this thing, I'll say that I do have a couple of complaints...Namely, I really don't care for the way James sings nowadays. He is actually singing on this album much like he did throughout the 90s instead of just pelting out kick ass vocals like in the 80s. In addition, while the production quality could only be better than St. Anger (and it is), it is still very sub par to the black album or anything else coming out nowadays for that matter. I suppose they were going for a very "raw" sound, so it's livable.

Highlights for me on here are "Broken, Beat & Scarred", "The Day that Never Comes", "All Nightmare Long" (my fav) and "Suicide and Redemption". Anyway, check it out if you've ever been a Metallica fan. If you've been hating on them since Load and lost hope, this probably won't fix your hankering for their 80s material.

I'll be back with a real update tomorrow or Monday. But I leave you with my favorite tune from Death Magnetic, All Nightmare long. Enjoy!
